HOME » Society News Archive » Christmas Party 2004 On the 8th December about 30 members and guests met at Woodrow to celebrate Christmas with the now familiar Quiz plus festive food and drink.
Below: For the Quiz, members were divided into groups of four (although some managed to arrange a group of five - is that why they managed to win I wonder?).
Below: Members contributed an extremely varied range of food, which was much appreciated and the Society added wine and soft drinks.
Below: The Chairman and group - enjoying some of the wine, in between answering the varied topics, which had been built into a very enjoyable Quiz. As this was Christmas time, some of the questions didn't have much bearing on astronomy and, in fact, one of them concerned the current age of the Chairman. Perhaps that was why he needed the drink!!
Below: The Chairman presenting the Secretary with one of the raffle prizes - this one believed to be a soft toy representing a cow jumping over the moon.
All in all a very enjoyable evening, even if the cloudy weather did preclude any observing. |
