This shot was taken from my back garden in Chesham on 15th June 12 about 0730......yes we had sun that morning!

I have a DSLR Sony a33 attached to a Baader Hyperion zoom set at 12 mm mounted onto my PST which in turn is mounted to a camera tripod.

The following day the sun hurled 2 large CME’s towards us.

It was polished up using Photoshop

Andromeda Galaxy (M31) with M110 and M32 taken 15th September 2012

It was clouding over so I did a high speed imaging session using my 120mm refractor on an HEQ5 (unguided) mount and Canon EOS 60d camera.

I took about 30 exposures of 15 sec duration with an ISO setting of  6400, and also 10 dark frames. They were stacked in Deep Sky Stacker and tweaked in Photoshop.

The image is quite noisy due to the high ISO setting but does have nice sharp stars due to the short exposure times.

‘Jupiter and Moons’

It was taken on 5th November at 2300 with a 120mm refractor, 2x Barlow and Canon EOS 60d camera.

The moons (from top – Europa, Io, Ganymede and Callisto) were taken normally with an exposure of 1 sec at ISO 400.

To get extra detail in Jupiter I used the ‘image crop’ video mode on the camera, with the frames stacked in Registax.
