Nice one Alistair, I can see colour in my future..
Was there a previous version with a magenta cast?

Hi Chris. This is my third go at M51 - previous ones not much good and I can't remember if I posted them. But "magenta cast" sounds plausible! Recently deleted a lot from the gallery because it wasn't my better stuff and it had been there long enough.

Such long exposures are vastly more resilient to noise appearing in the processing. Which is stating the obvious, but long nights of patience in the image acquisition has its rewards. Also got several hours of M101 and M63 this week. A

I didn't spend much time on this and am sure I can get more out of it. I'll have another go when I get back to UK. A

What a lovely image Alistair. Please can you explain the settings in more detail for me as I don't understand some of it. 05.12.5" RC,STL11000M please? Is this taken with a new piece of kit? i.e. Richey Cretien 'scope.
