Hello and welcome to Wycombe Astronomical Society!

If you are interested in visiting the Society then we would be delighted to welcome you along to one of our meetings.

First and foremost, we don't ask or believe that people should join a Society (by paying their subscription), before they visit. We would like to invite you to visit us as our guest for a couple of months to decide if you like what we offer.

We meet twice a month. Our main meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month where we usually have a lecture followed by refreshments and chat. On the first Thursday of every month, we have practical evenings which are based at the observatory if it is clear or indoors if not. Practical evenings are for members of all abilities and aims to get people outside to observe! Observing also takes place throughout the month whenever conditions permit. We have an email and telephone contact list to arrange these sessions. All meetings take place at Woodrow House, Amersham, Bucks and tyically start between 7:45pm and 8:00pm. Indoor meetings usually finish around 10:00pm.

  • complete the form below which gives us some details about you. When you click submit, an application form will be generated with your details filled in. Please print this form out, sign it and bring it along to your first meeting. We will contact you after you fill in the form to say hello, so do tell us a bit about yourself in the last field!

Newsletter

Cygnus, our monthly newsletter for paid up members, is password protected on our website here. To minimise printing and postage, we only issue a black and white printed copy only to members who do not have access to the website. Please indicate your requirement:

I do not have access to the internet and wish to receive a printed copy of Cygnus each month.

Please talk to us - we are interested in hearing about you! For example:

How did you become interested in Astronomy? 
Where did you find details of the Society? 
When will you be coming along to visit us?
Are you interested in regular observing or just armchair astronomy?

When you press submit, your information will be emailed to us. You will see a formatted application form which requires your signature in two places. Please print the page in your web browser and bring it along to your first meeting. This does not represent a commitment on your part to join the Society, it just simplifies the paperwork if you do decide to join! Thank you.
